Ukraine Turns to India, Asking Prime Minister Modi to Assist in Restoring Peace

The Ukrainian ambassador to India requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene to help discourage Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukraine. “India needs to fully embrace its global power.” Modiji is a well-liked and respected leader. India and Russia have a special relationship. I’m not sure how many leaders Putin will listen to, but Modi’s forceful voice makes me feel he will,” Polikha remarked.

Polikha also expressed his dissatisfaction with India’s answer. In a press conference, Polikha pleaded with the Indian government for help.

Ukraine Envoy encouraging India to make use of Strong Ties with Russia

The Ukrainian envoy encouraged India to make use of its strong ties with Russia to avert a global crisis. Ukraine, according to Polikha, is in a serious situation because it is being assaulted from all sides. Polikha was alluding to Russian soldiers moving from the east of Ukraine, as well as from the north and northwest into Belarus.

Following a televised address to Russian citizens on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the commencement of a military campaign in Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro, and other large cities just after Putin’s address finished.

Russian forces have stated that they have launched precision strikes against Ukrainian military targets. Russian missile strikes in Kharkiv have resulted in several casualties, and tanks are advancing into Ukraine from Belarus.

Both sides have made claims and counterclaims, and news organizations such as News18 and conflict monitors have been unable to objectively verify them.

“Fighting is taking place all over the place. Because there is no communication in this area, we are unable to receive information about victims,” Yevgeny Kaplin, the leader of the humanitarian charity Proliska, told AFP.
