The CBSE has yet to decide whether Class X and XII would have a single board test next year

CBSE: According to a top Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) official, the decision to return to single-board examinations for Class X and XII will be made in due course.

“Whatever decision is made for the 2023 academic session will be informed to you,” CBSE’s Controller of Exams Sanyam Bharadwaj told The Hindu. In light of COVID-19, he stressed that the decision to break the Board exams into two was made exclusively for the academic year 2022-2023.

CBSE is yet to finalize date

The first-term board examination took place in December 2021 and January 2022, and the second-term board examination is scheduled to begin on April 26.

The first semester exams only contained multiple choice objective type questions that had to be completed in 90 minutes, however, the second term exams will have subjective type questions with short and long responses that must be replied to in two hours.

Mr. Bharadwaj added, “When we prepare the results of term 2, we will make a decision on how much weightage we would assign to the two examinations.”
