The Delhi Education Department has issued a new promotion policy for classes 9 and 11

According to the promotion policy issued by the education department for this academic session, students in Delhi’s Class IX and XI will be promoted to the next grade based on their scores in the mid-term tests, annual examination, and projects or practicals combined and will be given up to 15 grace marks in any number of subjects to pass.

Because of the pandemic-related school cancellations and the resulting disruption of teaching-learning, the department has issued amended promotion criteria for certain grades since 2020. Because schools have been allowed to open for classes IX to XII starting February 7, many institutions have held their final exams in the offline format this year.

The education department advised having the offline test

However, because parental approval is required, the government (Education department) has advised that pupils who have not attended their school’s offline tests due to a lack of parental authorization must sit for their respective schools’ offline exams after March 31. Students will no longer be able to attend school online beginning April 1. Meanwhile, schools that used the blended model for their final exams would be able to compute their results using the scores of their pupils.

After combining their mid-term, yearly exam, and practicals or projects grades, students must pass with 33 percent in each of their main disciplines. Students who do not receive this score can take compartment exams, which will be offered offline after March 31. All schools, public and private, have been told to follow this policy, but if a private school wants to create criteria that deviate from the norms, they must first get permission from the education department.
