According to official sources, Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju, and Gen (Retd) V.K. Singh would travel to Ukraine’s neighboring nations to supervise the evacuation mission and assist students stranded in the combat zone.
The decision was made on February 28, 2022, at a high-level discussion on the Ukraine situation hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ministers will go to encourage the evacuation process
According to sources, Mr. Scindia will visit Romania and Moldova, while Mr. Rijiju will visit Slovakia. Mr. Puri will travel to Hungary, while Mr. Singh will coordinate the evacuation in Poland. S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, and Piyush Goyal, the Minister of Commerce, were among those who attended the meeting. According to government statistics, there are around 40,000 Indians in Ukraine.
