Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India’s growing capability in the drone sector will provide the world with a new leader as he flagged off 100 ‘Kisan drones’ for spraying pesticides and other agricultural materials across the country. Mr. Modi launched the drones on Friday, with officials hailing the initiative as a “very novel and exciting initiative” for farmers.
The Prime Minister stated during his speech that India is preparing for a new culture of drone startups. Their numbers will soon reach thousands, up from over 200 at the moment, resulting in a massive increase in job opportunities.
He stated that his government will ensure that the sector develops without impediments and has already implemented several reforms and policy measures to facilitate its growth. This is an illustration of how far the country can fly with the right policies, Mr. Modi noted, noting that drones were previously associated primarily with the defense sector.
Kisan Drones: New chapter in Moden Farming
This is a new chapter in the provision of modern farming facilities in the twenty-first century, and it will not only serve as a watershed moment in the development of the drone industry but will also open up an infinite number of possibilities, he said. The Prime Minister stated that his government did not waste time worrying about opening the drone sector, but instead relied on India’s young talent and moved forward with a new mindset. He stated that his government’s Budget and policy measures place a premium on technology and innovation.
Mr. Modi noted that drones have a variety of uses, noting that they have been used in the ‘Swamitva Yojana,’ which aims to create a record of land ownership in villages and transport medicines and vaccines. He asserted that ‘Kisan drones’ herald a new era. Farmers will soon be able to use high-capacity drones to transport their produce such as fruits, vegetables, and flowers to markets in record time, thereby increasing their income.
