End of Cultural Era: Lata Mangeshkar passed away at 92

The Legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar dies at age of 92. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on January 8. She was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia. The news of the death was broken by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Dr. Pratit Samdani who treating her informed the media about her deteriorating health last evening. She was on ventilator support.

The singing legend was on Sunday at Breach Candy Hospital. She was on Ventilator since last evening. She was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia. The cause of her death was a multi-organ failure. Lata Mangeshkar was given aggressive therapy by a team of doctors.  As per the government sources, the Government is going to observe the two-day national mourning of Lata Mangeshkar and the national flag to fly at half-mast for the next two days to pay respect to the legendary singer.

 

Lata Mangeshkar’s Last Rites 

Her last rites will be performed at Shivaji Park in Mumbai around the evening. Her mortal remains will be shifted to her residence. Their people can pay homage to her. Later she will be shifted to Shivaji Park for public darshan between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Her body will be shifted from Breach Candy Hospital to her residence Prabhu Kunj. The last rites with full state honors will be conducted at Shivaji Park at 6.30 pm today.

Earlier in the morning, Dr. Samdani, who is treating her at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for the last 29 days, said “there is no improvement in the health of Lata Mangeshkar, the efforts of the doctor are continuing, her condition is still stable. She continues to be in ICU & is under my supervision.”
