PM Modi will be in Gujarat to unveil projects worth more than 20,000 crore rupees

PM Modi landed in Gujarat on Monday for a three-day tour, where he will unveil projects worth more than 20,000 crores and lay the foundation stone for a new worldwide centre of traditional medicine in Jamnagar.

PM Modi travelled to the newly established command and control centre of the State Education Department after arriving at Ahmedabad airport as part of the State government’s efforts to improve the quality of education in primary schools.

The PM Modi met with top officials and teachers at the centre to discuss the new initiatives the government has implemented to boost the standard of education in government schools.

AAP challenged PM Modi

The Prime Minister‘s visit to the centre is significant since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had criticised the Gujarat administration over the state’s educational standards before of the Assembly elections, in which the AAP was attempting to establish itself as a third political force in Gujarat.

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, recently visited a few schools in Gujarat and challenged State Education Minister Jitu Vaghani to a public debate about the quality of education in Delhi and Gujarat’s state-run schools.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will travel to Banaskantha to dedicate a new dairy complex, a potato processing unit, and a community radio station owned by Banas dairy in Deodar.

Before heading to Jamnagar, where the World Health Organization (WHO) is establishing a new centre for traditional medicine, he will lay the foundation stone for other dairy initiatives in the district.

The first of its kind in the world, the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine intends to harness traditional medicine’s potential by combining it with technological breakthroughs and evidence-based research.

There are four strategic areas

According to a press release from the Ayush Ministry, while Jamnagar will serve as the center’s base, the new centre will focus on four strategic areas: evidence and learning, data and analytics, sustainability and equity, and innovation and technology to maximise traditional medicine’s contribution to global health.

Mr. Modi will be joined by the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth, and the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, at the Jamnagar event. On Monday afternoon, they both arrived in Gujarat.

Mr. Modi will open the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The goal of the event is to increase investment and highlight breakthroughs in traditional medicine. “It is a one-of-a-kind effort to build long-term collaborations, promote exports, and maintain a healthy ecology,” according to a government statement.

Later, the Prime Minister will address a tribal gathering and inaugurate an irrigation project in the tribal district of Dahod. It should be noted that PM Modi’s visits have risen in the run-up to the State’s Assembly elections. In March, he paid a two-day visit to Gujarat, holding roadshows in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar while also participating in a series of events via videoconferencing.
