US President Joe Biden slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to commence military operations in Ukraine on Thursday, calling it “unprovoked and unjustified.”
“President Putin has chosen a deliberate war that will result in massive human suffering and loss of life. The United States and its allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive manner to the death and damage that this attack will bring. The world will hold Russia accountable,” the White House said in a statement.
Biden will collaborate with NATO allies
“We will also collaborate with our NATO Allies to guarantee a strong, united response that deters any action against the Alliance,” Biden said, adding that he will be meeting with his G7 counterparts to impose additional sanctions on Russia. This evening, I’ll be monitoring the situation from the White House, and my national security staff will continue to provide me with regular updates.”
