In India, Google has launched the ‘Play Pass’ subscription service

Google announced the introduction of its ‘Play Pass’ subscription service in India on Monday, which would provide Android users access to over 1,000 apps and games without adverts, in-app purchases, or upfront fees. Users in India can try the service for a month for free before subscribing for Rs 99 per month or Rs 889 per year. They can also get a one-month prepaid subscription for Rs. 109.

Play pass currently accessible in 90 countries

Google said in a statement that Playpass, which is now accessible in 90 countries, will offer a high-quality and curated library of 1000+ titles from developers from 59 countries, including many from India.

“With the ability to reach users in 90 countries, Playpass will provide Indian developers of all types of apps and games with a new avenue to expand their global user base and unlock new revenue streams,” Google said, adding that it will continue to work with global and local developers to add new games and apps to Play Pass every month so that there is always something new to discover.

“We’re delighted to offer a comprehensive collection of unblocked games to our consumers with the introduction of Play Pass in India, and we’re looking forward to partnering with more local developers to produce fantastic experiences users adore,” Aditya Swamy, Director, Play Partnerships, Google India, said.

This Playpass will provide players access to popular games like Jungle Adventures, World Cricket Battle 2, and Monument Valley, as well as apps like Utter, Unit Converter, AudioLab, Photo Studio Pro, and Kingdom Rush Frontiers TD.

“Users may begin their trial of Playpass this week by opening the Play Store app on their Android smartphone, tapping the profile symbol in the top right, and searching for “Play Pass.” Subscribers can access the Playpass library of apps and games by going to the Playpass page or checking for the Playpass “ticket” when browsing titles on the Play Store, according to the company.
