Today, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, GOI, virtually inaugurated the valedictory session of E-Khel Pathshala, which was hosted by SAI LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
In his address, Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur highlighted the important schemes and facilities offered by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, such as FIT INDIA, which has evolved into a “People’s Movement,” and the Khelo India Games, which are critical in the athletes’ journey from playground to podium. He also stated that the Indian government wants to concentrate on all aspects that would increase the popularity of sports across the country. When our athletes win a medal in the Olympics or in any international event, and our Tricolor flies high, it is an extraordinarily wonderful emotion that energises the entire nation, he cited the Prime Minister as saying.
Physical Education, he said, is a topic that directly addresses essential health and wellbeing issues. He also urged the country’s youth to embrace sports as a way of life. He thanked the SAI LNCPE and Khelo India e-Khel Pathshala teams on completing the 7th batch programme successfully.
The e-Khel Pathshala’s goal is to make sports-related knowledge available to people from all across the country, regardless of where they live. It has a professionally prepared curriculum that was created with the help of National Sports Federations, famous coaches, athletes, and specialists. The Ministry of Education, Khelo India, and Fit India have collaborated on this programme. On the Sports e-learning platform, E-Khel Pathshala is a programme established by the Sports Authority of India to deliver consistent organised online training courses to Physical Education Teachers and Community Coaches/learners at the grassroots level.
SAI has developed an online sports learning platform, e-Khel Pathshala, that will serve as a catalyst for revolutionising sports delivery at the grassroots level. This will provide a nationally standardised, level-based quality coaching programme.
The e-khel pathshala was established with the goal of educating PE teachers and coaches from the ground up and equipping them with the necessary information and skills to conduct physical education programmes across the country. This will also assist them in identifying blossoming skills for the next generation, allowing them to choose from a variety of sports disciplines by recognising their abilities, and allowing them to achieve higher levels of excellence in sports.
